I have read all 368 quote requests that came through this form in 2026. I built the site because most of the solar advice NI homeowners are handed was written for Great Britain. It is independent, it is free to use, and installers pay for the introductions.

I built this site and I write and edit every page on it. Compare Solar NI is operated by Move at Pace Ltd. I am not an installer, I do not sell hardware, and I have no stake in an installation company. I have read all 368 quote requests that came through the form between March and early September 2026, I run the daily generation tracker across seven NI towns, and I speak to the installer who works those requests.
The reason this site exists is a mismatch. The Smart Export Guarantee requires the installation to be in Great Britain. The Boiler Upgrade Scheme is open to people in England and Wales. Neither reaches a house in Omagh, and no Northern Ireland scheme pays for domestic solar panels, yet all three keep turning up in sales calls here. Every figure on this site is checked against the body that sets it, and the check date is printed on the page.

Not an installer
I do not fit panels and I do not sell hardware. No installer can buy a better write-up on this site.
Paid by installers, not by you
An installer pays a flat introduction fee when it accepts a completed quote request. Nothing is added to your quote.
The network stated plainly
It is one MCS-certified firm covering all of Northern Ireland today. Better to say that than imply a panel of ten.
Checked against the source
Grant and tariff facts come from the Housing Executive, the Utility Regulator and the suppliers, with the check date printed on the page.

What this site is for
Two jobs. The first is to answer the questions NI homeowners actually ask, with figures that hold up here: what a system costs, what your supplier pays for exported units, which grants are real and which are not. Start with solar panel costs in Northern Ireland, export payments in NI and solar panel grants.
The second is the quote form. Fill it in and an MCS-certified installer picks it up, contacts you directly and quotes you. You are not charged and you are not committed to anything. Prices for the same roof vary, which is why comparing beats accepting the first number you are given.
There is also a daily generation tracker at Today's solar in NI, built from Open-Meteo radiation data for seven towns. It is the only place I know of that publishes what a typical NI install produced yesterday.
