  • You live in Northern Ireland and own and occupy the property as your main home, hold a life interest in it, or rent it from a private landlord
  • Total gross annual household income under £23,000
  • Not a Housing Executive or housing association tenant, and not a holiday home, B&B or commercial premises

Fully funded for eligible owner-occupiers through NISEP when places are available; 20% for businesses; no general grant until the planned DfE scheme launches

Heat Pump Grants in Northern Ireland (2026): What You Can Get Now and What Is Promised for 2027

Two NISEP schemes fund heat pumps for lower-income homeowners, both full on 23 September 2026. The Department for the Economy grant is likely in 2027. The oil maths, the solar maths and the gas hybrid question, checked on primary sources.

  • NISEP heat pump schemes: owner-occupiers with household income under £28,000 (single) or £35,000 (couple or family)
  • Heating must be none, solid fuel, oil or LPG with a boiler over 15 years old or broken, or pre-2018 Economy 7 heaters
  • Businesses: 20% NISEP grant through Power NI towards heat pumps and other heating technology
